South County Hub (Anne Arundel FY19 and beyond)
The South County Hub is a new initiative to bring services, specifically supports for Disconnected Youth, to the area south of Central Avenue in Anne Arundel County. This area is very rural with virtually no services (government or private) geographically located in there. This project is a partnership with Anne Arundel County Public Libraries and Anne Arundel Workforce Development to bring services and access to youth in this underserved part of the county with a hub at the Deale Branch of our local library system.
As of FY20, another community partner will be providing 100% of the funding for this initiative inside our Collective Impact model so there will be no further reporting on this program to GOC.
Story Behind the Curve
Due to contract delays with the internet provider high speed access and hot spots were not able to be purchased and made available at the South County Hub before the conclusion of the first half of FY19. These items are in place as of mid-January so programming will commence shortly and reporting will be available for the second half of the Fiscal Year.

This program aims to serve Disconnected Youth and reconnect them to education and/or workforce opportunities via high-speed internet hotspots available at the Deale Library.
Target Population
This program targets Disconnected Youth in the southern part of Anne Arundel County.
