JIFI Program (Anne Arundel FY17 and Beyond) - Annual
Program Summary
In-home mentoring and support program for youth that are having difficulty in school, with peers, in the community and /or at home providing a family assessment, substance abuse screening and referral, a strengths based treatment plan that can be presented in court as part of the disposition (sentencing) if appropriate, individual and/or family counseling, mental health wellness and treatment, self help and support groups, referral to job training, and basic supports.
Target Population
Disconnected and Homeless youth recruited from North County.

- The program had strong outcomes in FY18 despite two major challenges: change in program manager and change in vendor (due to original vendor going out of business!)
- Small gap in services in the spring during the transition to the new vendor did impact numbers but excellent service by the program manager really minimized the overall impact
- Good improvement in both Better Off % measures from FY17 - the curve is definitely moving in the right direction!
