Story Behind the Curve
In May 2021, of the 454 providers in the city of Detroit, 270 were participating in Great Start to Quality (did not have an empty star or unknown rating status). Of the 270 that were participating in the quality rating system, 94% (253) had a rating of at least 3 stars.
In May 2022, the number of providers in Detroit fell slightly to 445, but more providers reported participating in Great Start to Quality (305). Of those that participate, 96% are high-quality (at least 3 stars; 292/305 providers). This means that the percent of high-quality programs in the City is about 66% (292/445).
