Story Behind the Curve
In order to track a facilities quality score increasing, an ECE facilities quality rating assessment (or tool) needs to be developed, piloted, and disseminated out. Until a tool is developed for pilot, this is difficult to track. IFF is currently working out an internal tool for measuring facility quality during ECE facility assessments. This measure is in draft form currently and expected to be piloted in 2021-2022 as part of evaluation work related to Learning Spaces. This revised assessment is not expected to take the place of the national measure for the ECE facility quality being developed.
In late April 2021, Bipartisan Policy Center released the Moving Towards Quality: Child Care Center Facility Assessment Checklist.
