Why Is This Important?
Increasing the ability of Northwest Region residents to walk or bike to work is an aspect of reducing reliance on cars and decreasing the amount of energy used on transportation. Increasing sidewalk and bike path infrastructure, and making land use decisions that concentrate homes and businesses in dense village centers can support more walkable and bikeable communities.
