Preterm birth is when a baby is born too early, before 37 weeks of pregnancy have been completed. In 2017, 10% of babies were preterm in the United States, above the Healthy People 2020 goal of achieving a preterm birth rate of 9.4% for all births (not limited to high-risk pregnancies) in the US. Dartmouth-Hitchcock's Mom's in Recovery program achieved a higher level of performance compared to this measure in 2017 for births to women affected by substance use disorders, a notable positive accomplishment. 

Dartmouth-Hitchcock's Mom's in Recovery program provides integrated substance use disorder, mental health disorder, and OB care to women during pregnancy.
