The California State Board of Education designated the FITNESSGRAM^® as the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) for students in California public schools. The primary goal of the FITNESSGRAM^® is to assist students in establishing lifetime habits of regular physical activity. The Physical Fitness Test assesses six fitness areas including: aerobic capacity, abdominal strength, upper body strength, body composition, trunk extensor strength, and flexibility. Together we can! Healthy Living in Butte County is tracking the percent of 5^th grade students who meet the healthy fitness zone for 6 out of 6 fitness standards. Through physical activity assessments and interventions, we would hope to see this rate to increase over time.
