Story Behind the Curve

Chlamydia is a common sexually transmitted disease that can easily be cured.  If left untreated, it can cause serious, permanent damage to a women's reproductive system.

Macomb County's chlamydia rate is lower than the rate for the State of Michigan.  Rates have been steadily increasing for the last 5 years.  Rates are per 100,000 population for all ages.

The Macomb County Health Department provides testing and treatment for chlamydia at its Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic for persons ages 12 and older.
