Story Behind the Curve
Objective 4.3.1 Update (December 2015) – The department has acquired new devices that will back up and duplicate contents of servers. This includes onsite data storage and an offsite replication of data. The Information Systems (IS) program has budgeted for additional hardware that will provide total redundancy and fail-over protection. This equipment will be housed in Chico. A full disaster recovery plan and an update to the Information Technology appendix to the department’s Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) will be completed by year end 2016. A department wide HIPAA/ HITECH audit will commence in February 2016. The audit will identify and offer mitigation strategies for PHI and related security issues.
