The percentage of Vermonters age 18-64 with Medicaid insurance who received recommended and effective preventive care stayed the same between 2011 and 2012.

Increasing access to preventive health services is an important goal because it means that Vermonters are receiving support, resources and care earlier, in order to reduce more costly and more serious health problems later in life.

This measure is composite from the All Payer Claims Database; it is measured consistently across all insurers. The data displayed here includes breast cancer screening, cervical cancer screening and diabetes assessment rates together in one measure for the adult Medicaid population. As Vermont moves forward with the Blueprint for Health program and its integrated patient center medical home and community health team model of care, this data can be an indicator of our success.
