Story Behind the Curve

Care 4 Kids helps low to moderate income families in Connecticut pay for child care costs. This program is sponsored by the State of Connecticut’s Department of Social Services (also called DSS).

There is a Proposal at the state level in Connecticut to increase “Care for Kids” funding by 3% each year for four years. Recently, the Plymouth Early Childhood Council has updated their Plymouth Early Childhood Council School Readiness Policies, requesting that each registered child receive an application for Care for Kids.

In 2014, fifty two (52) families were surveyed in the Plymouth Community. Twenty six (26) survey participants had not heard about Care for Kids or School Readiness Assistance prior to the Plymouth Early Childhood Council Survey.
