Story Behind the Curve

Q3 2017: The follow-up data from this quarter shows how the program is working to enable easier and quicker access to hep C treatment for those accessing homelessness services and those in residential rehabs. The model of bringing treatment access to people where they're at is proving to be very worthwhile for participants.

Q2 2017: The follow-up data from this quarter shows that the Living Well program is effective at enabling access to hep C treatment for people in residential rehabs. A collaborative effort with the local HIV and Related Programs (HARP) unit meant that Living Well played an important role in the establishment of a liver clinic at one particular rehab. Another rehab was linked in to the Royal Prince Alfred hospital liver clinic and a continuing relationship has since been built. However, the unique nature of the course that was run at the homelessness service meant that follow-up data was unable to be captured.

Across the financial year, Living Well has played a key role in linking residential rehabs with hep C treatment (as well as testing and FibroScanning) through local liver clinics. A number of participants have commenced treatment at residential rehabs who have never before allowed treatment. This element of the program has been particularly well-received by participants, rehab staff and liver clinics.

Q1 2017: In the previous quarter we were able to streamline access to hep C treatment for two of the six women at the rehab through St George Hospital. This presents the first time that hep C treatment had ever been undertaken at that particular rehab, representing a particular success for the program.

Q4 2016: As no courses were run during the previous quarter, there was no Living Well participants to provide follow up data

Q3 2016: Due to illness and absence of the program's peer-facilitators, no Living Well courses were run in this quarter. As such there are no results for this measure. However, this will be rectified in the next quarter with a number of courses booked and planned.

Q2 2016: There was only small number of participants who were still present for the final week of the one course that finished during this quarter. Of this small group, unfortunately none had or were open to providing contact details for follow-up.

Q1 2016: All participants who had taken part in the Living Well program in the previous quarter reported that they had been putting the things learnt in Living Well into practice in their daily lives.

Q4 2015: Most participants who were followed-up with 3 months after completing a Living Well course reported that the knowledge and skills acquired through the program were being used in their lives.

Q3 2015: As only one course was run in the previous quarter there was only one month where follow-up data could be collected, which exceeded the target.

Q2 2015: This measure is collected 3 months after the completion of a Living Well course. As no courses were run in Q1 there was no 3 month post-course data to be collected for this quarter. The follow-up data for the Living Well course run during Q2 will be collected in Q3.

Q1 2015: Due to staffing changes and lack of data this measure was unable to be completed.
