What Works
Over the course of OAHR’s operations, we have found that the best way to serve our community partners is to accept a large proportion of the referrals we receive – even if they do not match our eligibility criteria or our preferred client profile. This allows us to support partners’ efforts to assist their patients/clients while giving us the opportunity to guide future referral patterns by providing targeted feedback. As a result, we have set an intention to accept at a high rate and then attempt to tailor services to the needs of the clients -- focusing our most intensive work on clients who are most likely to benefit from our services, providing brief consultations/interventions for others, and when necessary directing clients who would benefit from other services to the appropriate agencies.
Action Plan
Continue to collect information regarding referral sources, client profiles, and other information that will support future outreach efforts to obtain referrals that best match the OAHR target population.
