Story Behind the Curve
The Environmental Engineering Program’s Phase I and II Subsurface Sewage Disposal training series provides participants with a standardized interpretation of the Connecticut Public Health Code (PHC) Section 19-13-B100a, 19-13-B103 and 19-13-B104a and associated Technical Standards and Design Manual for small (under 5000 gallons per day) residential and commercial subsurface sewage disposal systems. Only individuals who have attended the Department of Public Health sponsored Phase I and II Subsurface Sewage Disposal training courses and passed examinations are eligible for approval as an Agent of the local director of health. The Phase I and II subsurface sewage disposal training series provides participants with a standardized interpretation of the Connecticut Public Health Code (PHC) Section 19-13-B100a, 19-13-B103 and 19-13-B104a and associated Technical Standards and Design Manual for small (under 5000 gallons per day) residential and commercial subsurface sewage disposal systems. The training is offered to new professionals and as a refresher to already approved Agents of the local director of health. Attendance for phase I and phase II trainings are subject to actions outside the control of DPH and fluctuate from training to training, year to year.
