Story Behind the Curve
The grant year for Disease Surveillance, follows the fiscal year, with the quarters being as such:
- Quarter 1: July-September
- Quarter 2: October-December
- Quarter 3: January-March
- Quarter 4: April-June
Annual data are from the calendar year.
There is no target for this measure, data collection is for tracking purposes only.
In 2020 and 2021, the numbers of reportable diseases increase extremely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, PPHD no longer included COVID numbers to keep the data more consistent with previous years. COVID data is tracked separately.
