Q3 2020

The percentage of HCV related topics remains step for this quarter, compared to last. The topics mostly centred around, transmission, testing and treatment access during the pandemic. Call responses were delivered to enquiries initiated by the Clearing the Path campaign across NSW.  The majority of calls originated from people in prison who, with increased access to the telephones sought out basic HCV treatment and testing access information and requested printed resources in the form of Hepatitis Information Packs. 

Q2 2020

The percentage range of HCV related topics was between 80% and 83% for this quarter. Topics mostly centred around testing and treatment access during the pandemic lockdown. The majority of calls originated from people in prison who, with a limited amount of time to access the telephones, during the lockdowns, merely sought out basic HCV treatment and testing access information and requested printed resources in the form of Hepatitis Information Packs. This being the same percentages as in the financial year 2018-19.

Q1 2020

Calls specifically relating to hepatitis C range from 81% January to 88% in March.  People calling from custodial settings often ask for an Infoline pack and do not specifically wish to engage in discussion around hepatitis C.  Therefore it is considered that this represents a slight underestimated and that calls specific to hepatitis C are upward to 90%.  Although there were more open discussion around hep C and concerns regarding COVID-19.

Calls specifically relating to hepatitis C range from 78% October to 84% in November.  People calling from custodial settings often ask for an Infoline pack and do not specifically wish to engage in discussion around hepatitis C.  Therefore it is considered that this represents a slight underestimated and that calls specific to hepatitis C are upward to 90%.

Calls specifically relating to hepatitis C range from 80% July to 88% in August.  People calling from custodial settings often ask for an Infoline pack and do not specifically wish to engage in discussion around hepatitis C.  It is considered that this represents a slight underestimation and that calls specific to hepatitis C are upward of 90%.  

Q2 2019

Calls about hepatitis C increased this quarter, peaking at 90% in June.  Calls from people in custody predominantly concern hepatitis C.  Infoline packs remain popular and our hepatitis C resources are frequently requested. 

Q1 2019

The number of people calling regarding information pertaining to hepatitis C ranged from 70% in March to 80% in February.   The majority of calls remain hepatitis C related, however there are other topics that are discussed such as hepatitis B, symptoms, standard precautions that are not specifically HCV related.  There are also occasions where an Infoline pack is sought but specifics around the nature of the request remain private.  

Q4 2018

The call concerning hepatitis C during quarter 4 ranged from 75% in November to 89% in October.  The primary topics that were discussed in descending order are: referrals, testing, treatment, injecting drug use, emotional support and DAA side effects.  

Q3 2018

The calls concerning hepatitis C were high again in quarter 3, ranging from 88% in July to 93% in September.  This increase is though to correlate with the increased number of calls from people in prison settings and roll-out of the new communication strategy in August.

Q2 2018

The calls regarding hepatitis C were higher in Q2 2018 than Q1 2018.  Reaching our target of 90% of calls received for May (87%) and June (90%).  Over 50% of call received from July 2017 through to June 2018 centred on hepatitis C testing and DAA treatments. 

Q1 2018

The calls regarding hepatitis C in March, 2018 increased to 2017 levels, with 85% of calls relating to HCV, DAA side effects, fibroscan, testing and/or treatment. In February, 38% of calls related to hepatitis C and 71% of calls in January.  Each month approximately 50% of calls received related to hepatitis C testing and/or treatment.

Q4 2017

The percentage of calls about hep C is slightly reduced by the increase in calls about hep B, however the number of calls about hep C or treatment is increasing.
