Story Behind the Baseline
The Equity Guide for Grants (measure to determine equity lens in grants) was not established until 03/15/2021. Previous grants may have been written/developed with an equity lens, but there was no objective measure for this until the checklist was developed. If 4 out of 7 indicators are present, then it is determined that the grant uses an equity lens. The measure is calculated by adding up the total number of grants that use equity lens divided by the total number of grants submitted that qualify. This measure only applies to grants with an awarded value of over $25,000 and a period of performance of at least six months. Certain other grants may not apply either, such as Environmental Health Standards grants.
