Data Description
This data was collected through the Western North Carolina Healthy Impact Initiative through the regional Community Health Assessment process. The survey asks respondents "How often do you get the social and emotional support you need?" Although the data is not available for the entire state, NCCHW tracks this community indicator because it is connected with an individual's ability to be healthy and resilient. Good social and emotional support can help people cope with illness and accidents when they occur and bounce back from hardships. They also contribute to stable and strong mental health and can prevent traumatic experiences from occurring.
