Story Behind the Curve
Objective 2.2.1 Update (December 2015) – The new 2.2.1 objective reads as follows “Assess, identify gaps, and define data sets and policies to contribute to access to health care services by June 30, 2016. In December 2015, BCPHD established a subcommittee to address access to care through the Butte County Health Collaborative. BCPHD has presented updated access to care data to partners. The committee plans to administer surveys and conduct focus groups in Spring 2015 to medical providers, administrators, and community members.

environmental scan and use the data to identify and address health disparities,
especially disparities related to race/ethnicity, age, gender/gender identity,
disability, socioeconomic status, or other characteristics historically linked to
discrimination or exclusion.

2015) – The revised strategy to reflect
the access to care objective reads as follows “Conduct an assessment – using
secondary data, surveys, and focus groups – to identify which barriers are
impacting the community, especially barriers as they relate to socioeconomic
status and rurality by March 2016.
