Story Behind the Curve
Objective 1.2.2 Update (December
2015) – The department assumes that
state mandated programs are evidence based, verification of these assumptions
may be implicated. Senior Leadership has expressed that this may be a more long
term endeavor than the life of the strategic plan – and that perhaps only the
assessment of evidence based programs / practices should be included for the
life cycle of the current strategic plan. Additional discussion involving the
operational definition of evidence based and the strength of evidence required
for a cutoff is needed. The Community Guide and What Works for Health have been
provided to Managers. These resources offer starting points for assessing use
of evidence based programs / practices in BCPHD operations.
