Story Behind the Curve
Life Skills Workshops focusing on Money Management, Job Reediness Workshops and Budgeting workshops are coordinated by Greenbelt CARES Disconnected Youth every three months. Topics includes financial planning, opening bank accounts, deposits, percentage and interest rates, and debit vs. credit cards are discussed in the seminars. In addition, the Job Readiness Workshops are intended to determine individual skills, abilities, interests, advantages and disadvantages. All or one of those workshops are chosen by youth participants that are either expected to get a job from the program or already have the resources to get a job, or develop a better skills set to obtain future employment.
