Story Behind the Curve
For FY22: The Judy Center Team implemented several new protocols in the fourth quarter including a new procedure to identify families in need of services and Pathway Plans. In addition, increased outreach was conducted to create awareness for Learning Beyond the Classroom events.
For HFY1 21: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, forming relationships and connections with families proved difficult. Efforts were made to develop connections during the Drive-By events, social media interfaces, phone calls, etc. with families despite contact restrictions. Pathway referrals and planning outcomes were directly affected by the lack of face-to-face interactions.
For FY20: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Learning Beyond the Classroom bus was parked and not utilized for the months of March through July. Third-quarter performance measures were zero (0) for every measure as plans were made regarding how to continue the program. The program became virtual in the fourth quarter and performance measures rebounded during that time period.

Action Plan
For HFY1 21: In order to meet the needs of our most vulnerable and disadvantaged population, Learning Beyond the Classroom locations have been reassessed and the program will offer different locations in March while following our modified approach due to COVID-19. The Drive-By events will take place in low-income housing areas within the county. The team would like to then give the Crisis to Thrive Survey once more in the Spring to note any improvements. As a Result of COVID, additional efforts to stay connected with families are required. These include the distribution of flyers, virtual check-ins, and numerous phone calls. Family Support Workers are working diligently with families to identify New Year's resolutions and establish Pathway Plans via phone. The staff also recognizes the importance of face-to-face communication and planning, therefore as soon as restrictions are lifted, face-to-face interactions will increase to assist with reaching outcomes. The Satisfaction Survey will be given near the end of the year to the Learning Beyond the Classroom participants.
