What Works
Action Plan
What will help turn the curve for this measure in FY19:
- The Learning Beyond the Classroom bus does not operate in January and February due to winter conditions
- The attendance issue resolves itself after the holiday season per previous FY data
- The Avilton stop will be added to the Learning Beyond the Classroom route in the summer
Data Discussion
For FY19, this measure's trend reflects the number of events as decreasing in Quarter 2. This is due to the holiday schedule and based on a lack of attendance. The Avilton stop is omitted during the course of the school year due to a lack of attendance.
While this performance measure is on a downward trend, the goal of ten (10) Learning Beyond the Classroom events completed in underserved, low-income areas addressing preparing healthy meals and snacks has been exceeded with 71 total for FY19. This is a decrease from the previous year, but with a substantial increase in attendance based on the number of parents/guardians, food preparation events were not always possible due to overcrowding and food limitations.
