As per GOCPYVS policy, a case is considered a “formal” counseling case with the attendance of the individual client at 4 or more sessions. Services are delivered in a manner that: a.) supports the participation of children, youth, young adults and their families in counseling services; b.) provides timely and effective intervention; c.) reduces the need for more intensive and intrusive intervention; and, d.) improves functioning.

The provision of clinical counseling services must be informed by evidence to support service quality and outcomes. Evidence-based services combine the best available and most current research with the experience and judgement of practitioners, children, youth, and families/caregivers to deliver positive outcomes.

The annual target number for formal counseling cases in is 75.  A total of 106 unduplicated children, youth, and young adults were served during FY22. 

Definition:  A case is considered a “formal” counseling case with the attendance of the individual client at 4 or more sessions.  A client is considered “served” when he/she is considered a “formal” counseling case. When reporting the number of parents, families, children, youth, etc. for the half year, a new count is started at the beginning of every fiscal year. The first Half Fiscal Year (HFY1) report will count all the parents, families, children, youth, etc. who have been served during the first six months of the fiscal year. The second Half Fiscal Year (HFY2) report will count only new parents, families, children, youth, etc. The Fiscal Year (FY) report will provide the total served for the whole year.
