The goal of the EDMAP program is to decrease referrals to the truancy court process through early intervention through letters sent out by school staff, meetings with school staff and parents, referrals to services as identified as needed and a brief intervention meeting put on by the Chisago County Attorney's Office and EDMAP Program. If all interventions are unsuccessful or not engaged in a court referral can be entered and an Admit/Deny Hearing is scheduled. From the point of the Admit/Deny hearing, a child and their guardian will be provided with a court ordered disposition or proceed to trial.
