Story Behind the Curve
This is a new measure adopted in May 2023. It is hoped that this performance measure will provide a more useful metric to determine the efficacy of mental health services and United Way's funding support. The previous measure, Health H-PM 2.2b: % successfully discharged from counseling (individual or family) was not found to be useful by health practitioners. As they pointed out, for many patients, long-term counseling is what is needed to contend with a mental health diagnosis. As such, discharge is not the goal.
Also available - on a pilot and by request basis: New2023 # of sessions of counseling provided in Story County (YSS, possibly Eyerly Ball).
