Story Behind the Curve

In FY22, the MST-EA team consisted of a program supervisor and 2 therapists.  In December of 2021, the program supervisor resigned.  In January of 2022, one of the MST-EA therapists was promoted to the program supervisor position leaving the team with the remaining therapist carrying a full case load (3-4 cases) and the program supervisor carrying a case load of 2.  This reduced the total number of youth/young adults served in FY22.  The vacant therapist position was filled in June, 2022.  After training, the new therapist will be assigned a case load gradually totaling 3-4 clients.

What Works

The MST-EA team supervisor is responsible for maintaining an active connection with all program referral sources. The supervisor communicates with referral sources often and provides MST-EA orientation sessions so that new referral source staff are fully aware of the resource.

Data Discussion

The annual target number for youth/young adult referrals is 12-15. Typical duration of MST-EA treatment is 6– 12 months. The total number of youth/young adult referrals received during FY22 was 15.
